The lastest issue, December 2008 includes:
- Launch of a new node led by Leon Flicker from Perth, which is focusing on Rural and Remote Dementia and several key publications.
- Proposal of '2-stream' re-organisation of the 'Prevention, Early Intervention and Risk Reduction’ node to ‘Early Detection and Diagnosis' and 'Prevention and Intervention'.
- Consumer, Carers and Social Research’s three overarching themes are: quality of life for people with dementia; use of technologies to enhance independence and sustain community living for longer; new models of care for persons with dementia, including consumer-directed care.
- DCRC projects in focus:
*Evaluation of an early intervention support model of people with early stage dementia and their caregivers.
*A longitudinal study of Prospective Memory in Mild Cognitive Impairment and Dementia.
*Nutritional challenges for family caregivers and persons with dementia.
