Gardening and dementia

Gardening said to improve quality of life in Alzheimer’s patients

Horticultural therapists and occupational therapists at UCSD Medical Center in Hillcrest. have introduced gardening into the care plan of people with dementia. Dr. Christina Gigliotti from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University research on the effects of gardening on people with dementia found that "people in horticulture activities compared to other types of activities that are traditionally offered, were more productively engaged". > read story
